A few weeks ago, we experienced some beautiful, sunny days in San Antonio, TX--a city Ron had been to many years ago but I had never seen. I had often heard about the Riverwalk, and it is truly like a separate world just down the steps from the main city streets. There are so many shops, restaurants, fountains, etc., and water taxis which take you on tours as the driver describes the many points of interest and their history. This band plays each day along the side of the river, adding to the ambiance.
The Alamo is probably the most famous landmark in San Antonio, and we were able to take the time to learn more about the specifics of the battle in 1836. There is now a complete to-scale model of the entire Alamo fort (as it was in 1836) in a building across the street, and the narration of the battle as a light shines on the various buildings is very educational.
Although our time there was too brief, we really enjoyed that historic city. I'll post a few more pictures later.

Looks like fun and sunny blue skies! Stu just finished reading a book all about the Alamo, so he knows a lot about it - maybe we'll have to visit one day!
