Sentimental Journey

This trip was truly a sentimental journey as we visited the towns where our grandparents grew up and from which they came to America as young adults. A relative of Dad's grandfather built this windmill in the mid-1800's, and in this cemetery we found gravestones of his grandfather's family. The church in Leens is where many Wolthuises were organists, as far back as the 1600's. As we went to the various cemeteries, we were amazed at the amount of "decoration" on the graves, an attempt to describe the person's life, in this case, a soccer player. The final picture is of a building in Nijmegen, the oldest city in the Netherlands. The statues are of the 12 apostles.
